Kundalini Yoga is sometimes called yoga of patience. It was brought to the west by Jogi Bahjan in the 70’s. The yoga style is strongly rooted in Indian culture. It’s also one of the more spiritual styles of yoga. Don’t worry about the workout though – the sequences of asanas (or Kriya’s) will be sure to challenge you physically and mentally. Each class consists of chanting, a series of poses and meditation that’s engineered to warm you up and get your energy flowing.
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of students dressed in white. It’s actually one of the defining characteristics of Kundalini yoga: sometimes yogis even wear a white turban.
